1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Prime Trail Ventures LLC ("CarSignal," "we"), a California company, collects, uses, and shares information when you use the CarSignal app and carsignalai.com. Prime Trail Ventures LLC is the controller of your personal information.
2. Information we collect
Account and login (via Firebase Authentication): your email and the sign-in method you use (e.g., Google sign-in), and a user identifier (Firebase UID). We maintain a backend user profile and an internal admin/tester allowlist.
Your content: vehicle details you enter (year, make, model, mileage, price, VIN), report content you paste or scan, and questions you ask. If you enable cloud sync, your saved assessments are stored in our cloud database (Firebase/Firestore) so they're available across your devices.
Purchases and entitlements (via RevenueCat and the app stores): records needed to grant access — a RevenueCat app-user identifier, the app-store order/transaction identifiers, the products you bought, and your active entitlement or subscription status. We do not collect or store your payment-card details; the app stores process payments and RevenueCat validates them.
Collected automatically: device and app identifiers, IP address, general location, and app usage and diagnostic data (including how many scans you've used).
From third parties: vehicle-history or market data from data providers, and purchase-verification data from the app stores and RevenueCat.
3. How we use information
- To provide and operate the Service, sign you in, and generate assessments.
- To record and verify purchases, grant your entitlements, allow purchase restores, and enforce free and paid usage limits.
- To sync your saved assessments (if you enable it) and maintain your profile.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, provide support, secure the Service, and comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations.
Where required (e.g., under GDPR), our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improvement), consent (where applicable), and legal obligation.
4. AI processing
Information you submit may be processed by automated systems and, where applicable, by third-party AI providers acting on our behalf to generate estimates and answers. We limit what is shared to what is needed to provide the Service.
5. Service providers and sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it with the processors that run the Service on our behalf, and otherwise as described below:
- Google — Firebase (Authentication, Firestore/database, hosting) for login, your profile, and saved assessments.
- Google Play and, later, the Apple App Store to process payments and verify purchases.
- RevenueCat to manage purchases, entitlements, and restores.
- AI and vehicle-data providers that process inputs to generate results, under contract.
- Authorities or others when required by law or to protect rights and safety, and a successor entity in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy.
6. Data retention
We keep account, profile, purchase, and entitlement records while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal/tax obligations; afterward we delete or de-identify them. Saved assessments are retained until you delete them or close your account.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, and rely on the security of established providers (Google/Firebase, RevenueCat, the app stores). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to opt out of certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Exercise these by contacting us at primetrailventuresllc@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request access to and deletion or correction of your personal information; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of certain targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may exercise these rights, including through an authorized agent, by contacting us at primetrailventuresllc@gmail.com; we will verify your request and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Account and data deletion
You can delete your account and associated personal data from within the app (Settings → Delete account), on our account deletion page, or by emailing primetrailventuresllc@gmail.com. We will delete or de-identify your data except where we must retain certain records (for example, purchase or tax records) as permitted by law.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the age required by your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International transfers
Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and provide additional notice for material changes where required.
